Better Business - Solo or with a partner
  • Many first-time entrepreneurs start a new business solo, managing all the hard work of starting and running a business alone.
  • Let’s look at the pros and cons of starting a business solo vs. starting a business with a partner.

1. Pros and cons of starting a business solo:

Benefits:

  • A sole proprietorship is the simplest organizational structure.
  • There won’t be conflicts about business decisions.
  • You are the source of your own success.

Disadvantages:

  • You need to do it all, even though you’re not expert at everything.
  • Carry work with you even on a vacation
  • There is  nobody to provide a second opinion

2. Pros and cons of starting a business with a partner

Pluses:

  • More heads are better than one
  • Partners contribute to startup capital allowing you to scale up your business sooner
  • Chances are better that you’ll have the right talent for all facets of the business

Minuses:

  • Decision-making is difficult if the partners are of different minds
  • You need to choose a suitable organization structure to meet the needs of all partners.
  • An exit strategy is much more complicated and is necessary.
